Linear Motor Actuator
The iron cord Linear Motor Actuator is typically used in situations where precise and consistent linear motion is required over a range of distances. The iron cord is a non-conductive material that transfers force from the linear motor actuator to the linear guide. By and large there are three types of Linear Motor Actuators are used
- Iron Core – Highest thrust and most cost effective magnets are a flat track, Mover (coil) wound inside steel sheet with silicon
- Core Less – Very smooth, used for scanning and vision application magnet is U-shaped, Mover (coil) is fixed with resin/epoxy
- Shaft Bar – Specific performance advantages due to packaging and heat dissipation.
Magnet stack is a round bar type, also a type of ironless Linear Motor Actuator
